About Mohács
Mohács is the Hungarian border-control town on the lower Danube, used by every cruise heading downstream from Budapest into Croatia and Serbia. The town is famous for the Busójárás carnival in late February, when masked figures in carved wooden masks parade to chase away winter, and for the 1526 battle in which the Ottoman army defeated the Hungarian king Louis II. Most ships call only briefly — long enough for the passport-control formalities — though some include a short walking tour of the votive church.
