About Passau
Passau is the German border town built on a narrow promontory at the confluence of the Inn, the Ilz and the Danube — the three rivers meet within sight of the town hall. The cathedral of St Stephan houses the largest cathedral pipe organ in the world, and a midday recital is a fixture of most shore excursions. The Veste Oberhaus fortress on the opposite bank gives the panoramic view of the three-river junction. Ships moor along the Fritz-Schäffer-Promenade beneath the old town.
