About Regensburg
Regensburg is the best-preserved medieval city in Germany north of the Alps, with a complete twelfth-century stone bridge, a Gothic cathedral and a tightly packed UNESCO old town of patrician tower-houses. The Wurstkuchl beside the bridge has been grilling Bratwurst on the same spot for nine hundred years and is on every walking tour. Ships dock on the Marc-Aurel-Ufer immediately beneath the old town, putting passengers in the historic centre within five minutes of stepping off the gangway.
