About Kinderdijk
Kinderdijk is the line of nineteen eighteenth-century windmills strung along the polder dikes south-east of Rotterdam, a UNESCO site and the most photographed mill complex in the Netherlands. River-cruise ships moor directly at the visitor centre, allowing passengers to walk the dyke between the mills, climb inside one of the working examples and watch the demonstration sail-setting. The site is most striking on still spring mornings when the tulip fields and mill sails reflect together in the canals.
