About Vega de Terron
Vega de Terrón is the upper turning-point for the Douro fleet, a small isolated berth on the Portuguese-Spanish border. There is essentially no town here — the call exists purely as the launch point for the long coach excursion to Salamanca over the border in Spain. Some operators substitute the closer Spanish frontier town of Ciudad Rodrigo, with its preserved medieval walls and the cathedral of Santa Maria, for those who prefer a shorter coach day.
