About Sa Dec
Sa Dec is the small Mekong-delta town in which Marguerite Duras spent her childhood and set her novel The Lover, and where the period house of her Chinese lover Huỳnh Thủy Lê has been restored as a museum. The town is best known to local Vietnamese for its flower-growing and ornamental nurseries on the surrounding islands. Most cruise calls combine a sampan ride through the village's flower farms with a visit to the Huỳnh Thủy Lê house and a school or market walk.
