About Uglich

Uglich is one of the smaller Golden Ring towns on the Upper Volga, with the red-brick Church of Dimitri-on-the-Blood marking the spot where the eight-year-old Tsarevich Dmitri (the youngest son of Ivan the Terrible) was killed in 1591 — an event that triggered Russia's Time of Troubles.
